Marketing Campaigns: TechCrunch appeals to the tech world. Accepting bitcoins isn't really a game changer and probably shouldn't be a marketing campaign for your company. It's just a way for your clients to pay.
Bitcoins as a whole:
Pros
A, Built for the internet - seems secure.
B, Can't be tracked - no fraud
C, No commissions (credit card companies taking 1-3%)
D, You can stabilize the balance of bit coins you keep (savings account and payment account)
Cons
A, Can be used for illegitimate purposes (drugs, guns etc...)
B, Still an emerging currency (exchange rates fluctuate)
C, One of the markets crashed losing about a fair amount of cash that was 'in transit'
